______________________________

ABOUT:

Lakanto Monk Fruit Sweetener is the only zero-calorie, zero-glycemic sweetener that is just like sugar.  It is made from Monk Fruit which was used for centuries in eastern traditional herbalism to increase chi and well-being, earning it the nickname “The Immortals’ Fruit”.  The Monk Fruit for Lakanto is still grown and harvested in the same pristine area and according to traditional and environmental methods.

CLASSIC vs. GOLDEN

Golden Monk Fruit Sweetener is intended to be a replacement for raw cane sugar, while the Classic Monk Fruit Sweetener is intended to be a substitute for white sugar. Some also say the Golden is good as a brown sugar substitute, but having used it I would personally be inclined to go with the with the explanation of it being a raw cane sugar substitute, not one for brown sugar.

HOW TO USE:

Replace sugar in a 1 to 1 ratio (meaning if a recipe calls for 1 cup of sugar, you use 1 cup of monk fruit sweetener) or according to taste (I personally prefer less, but then I decrease the sugar in all of my recipes because I find most things to be too sweet with the full amount of sugar called for).

SHELF LIFE:

Lakanto has never tested their monk fruit sweeteners for shelf life in an oxygenless environment, so cannot guarantee the longevity of this product as we will be packaging it (in mylar with oxygen absorbers).  As such, we are unable to quote a shelf life past what you will find on retail packaging, which is 3 years.  Keep in mind, though, that the 3 years quoted is for food in the regular plastic packaging, not with oxygen absorbers, and we know that packaging food in mylar with oxygen absorbers extends shelf life.  If in doubt, you can also freeze this product, which should extend shelf life indefinitely.

    FOR INQUIRING MINDS:

For those wondering (I get asked regularly) YES, I HAVE TRIED THIS PRODUCT. We use it regularly in our home in place of sugar.  It bakes just like regular sugar and has been a great substitute for those of us with sensitive blood sugar.

It was also heaven-sent when my husband was on a Keto diet.  He would make a dessert that was raw pecans, berries, whipped cream, monk fruit sweetener and a touch of lemon juice that was absolutely delicious!  You're welcome. ;)
